About SciImpact Global

Empowering Researchers.

Advancing Science with Impact.

Researchers face unprecedented pressure to publish, secure funding, build strong track records, demonstrate impact, communicate beyond academia, and often balance this with teaching, curriculum work, supervision, mentoring, leadership, and administration — all with limited time and independent support.

The challenge is not only doing excellent research. It is knowing what to prioritise, what to communicate, which funding route to pursue, and how to stay visible without losing who you are.

Academia in Crisis

At SciImpact Global, we understand these pressures from the inside — through permanent academic positions, international research careers, leadership responsibilities, grant success, and first-hand experience of navigating different higher education systems.

We offer experienced academic insight, practical strategy, and tailored support to help researchers navigate their next steps with clarity and confidence.

SciImpact Global, exists to change that.

A connected Ecosystem for Scientific Impact

Academics support academics

We are researchers who understand the realities of academia.

Our guidance is independent, practical, and shaped by experience.

Our mission

To empower researchers with the strategy, visibility, and systems they need to thrive — and to ensure their research makes a real-world difference.

Meet the Founder & CEO

My name is A/Prof Sabine Matallana Surget, and I founded SciImpact Global after more than 20 years in academia as a researcher in cellular biology and marine molecular microbiology.

After completing a joint PhD between Sorbonne University in Paris, France, and the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, followed by postdoctoral contracts at the University of Mons in Belgium with the European Space Agency, and in France with CNRS. I secured a permanent academic position in Scotland, where I built my own research group and laboratory from scratch at the University of Stirling. I progressed from Lecturer to Associate Professor, securing multi-million-pound research funding, publishing extensively in environmental biotechnology, and building international collaborations across different parts of the world. I also taught large undergraduate modules and held major leadership roles, including BSc Degree Programme Leader and Director of the Divisional Research Committee, working closely with researchers, developing funding strategy and systems to protect time for research.

I understand academia from the inside — the grants, publications, impact statements, teaching deadlines, mentoring, leadership roles, and constant pressure to excel on every front. Over time, one word increasingly shaped my research and vision: I-M-P-A-C-T. By impact, I mean real world change— not an evaluation metric, a citation count, or a sentence added at the end of a grant proposal, but work that reaches society, policy, industry, human health, and the planet.

SciImpact Global was created to ensure excellent research reaches society and the relevant audiences, creating the impact it deserves.

My goal as Founder and CEO is simple: to help researchers gain the visibility, recognition, and real-world impact their work deserves — while staying true to who they are.
